Immigrants: Greece prevents 10 thousand immigrants from entering its territory

    Thousands of immigrants had made their way into Turkish territory and reached the Greek border, hoping to cross into the European continent after Turkey opened the doors to Europe.

    Greek Prime Minister Kiriakos Tsotakis called for a meeting of the country's National Security Council later Sunday.

    Greek Deputy Defense Minister Alkeviades Stefanis accused Turkey of encouraging migrants to go to Greece.

    Greek authorities said that they prevented nearly 10 thousand migrants from crossing the border with Turkey.

Greek police said that at least 500 people have arrived in the islands of Lesbos, Samos and Kaios on board seven boats, as the camps are crowded with refugees.

  Migrants, including women and children, arrived on Sunday morning from Istanbul and marched through the fields towards the Greek border.

    It is noteworthy that the Turkish forces recently launched retaliatory attacks on the Syrian forces and stepped up pressure on European countries after the killing of dozens of Turkish soldiers in northwestern Syria.

    Turkey said it could no longer absorb immigrants from Syria. Among the immigrants were Afghans, Syrians, and Iraqis.
