RelationShip: Openness to others

    It’s easy, in restaurants, for example, to differentiate between old couples who love each other and those who have gone to war and who can no longer communicate. Happy couples touch, look at each other, talk to each other; their eyes are sparkling; they are lively. They breathe harmony and peace and become, for us, examples that living together is possible. 

    This is what I call opening up to others, the last stage in the evolution of the couple.
Moreover, these couples, often retired, get involved socially, do voluntary work, or are simply always ready to share their happiness with their children, their grandchildren, their immediate and distant entourage.

    They are very receptive, having been, despite the inevitable trials of life, fulfilled by it. They become models to imitate and are often envied, models.


    Conversely, it is also easy to identify, still in the restaurant, the couples who are still in the passion stage or those who have never overcome the struggle for power. The latter barely exchange a few words; the man often reads a newspaper or looks around; the woman, head bowed, looks at her husband from below, hoping that he is interested in her and wanting him not to do so. 

    The tension between the two is evident just as, for young couples, the passion is evident because nothing exists around them.
